This print is based on one of my charcoal drawings. I was particularly pleased with this print when I finished it as I felt very in control of the process and it felt like a milestone in my printmaking adventure.

Screen printing is very manual, and there has always been an element of surprise and tension in my process. Will the colours come out as I expect them to, will the different elements work on the paper as they did on the computer screen when I finished the composition. On this piece, I had something specific in mind (colours, textures) and it came out pretty much how I hoped it would. And because the texture, colours and compositions rendered as I wanted them to, the print conveys all the emotions and thoughts I wanted it to convey.

As a result, this piece is one of the most expressive works I have done and I am very proud of it.
