Strands

Added September 2024

Delighted to announce that a couple of my prints will be included in ArtCan’s forthcoming exhibition Strands.

This show aims to explore how most artists’ practice is made of strands, ideas pursued across techniques, explorations open to different medias, all weaved around the artist as the centre of gravity of their own world.

As someone one who often experiments with different printmaking techniques, the idea appealed a lot and I can’t wait to see how other artists have responded to the prompt.

The show will run from the 25th of October until the 31st, at the Department store in Brixton

Future Primitive

Added October 2024

Delighted that my print Sensation was selected for Future Primitive, an exhibition at Versus Arts in Clapton.

The curators say: “ Despite the technological and social avancements of the modern age, humanity is facing a deep crisis of identity, freedom and meaning. In this exhibition, we aim to initiate a meaningful dialogue through art, focusing on the profound effects of modern civilisation on human relationships, nature and individual freedom. This exhibition seeks to merge past and future, encouraging reflection on how a simpler, nature-connected, and freer way of life can be reimagined through the lens of art.”

The exhibition ran from 5th to 19th October,

Fiesta!

Added June 2024

Delighted to announce that I am a curator for an exciting new show this summer, along with Liz Whiteman Smith, Sarah Hamilton and Debbie Tearle.

Fiesta! is a visual response to the act or feeling of a summer ‘fiesta’, and raises a glass to the summer, to playfulness, warmth, colour, vibrancy and positive energy.

The word ‘fiesta’ comes from the Latin ‘festus’ meaning festive, joyful or merry –everything this exhibition will encapsulate. Around 200 original pieces will be on show from over 120 UK and international artists, with 2D and 3D works across painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and textile art.

The exhibition is organised by ArtCan, and will run from the 3rd of July till the 14th at Inky Fingers Gallery, London E9 5LW

Home

Added September 2023

Delighted to announce that one of my prints has been selected for a new ArtCan exhibition taking place in October. The show is called Home and is taking place at The Department Store in Brixton, in collaboration with Suna Interiors.

The call-out asked us to reflect on the idea of "home" in all its variations: place of origin, place of belonging, whether present or missing.

I chose to respond with a print called Aphinar, with evokes the last words of a dying poet, an imaginary ailleurs he dreamt of but forever out of reach.

Cyanotype exhibition at Townhall Hotel

Updated Feb 2022

My cyanotypes display at Townhall Hotel in London has been extended!.

The hotel is situated in an old Town hall building in Bethnal Green, London. The space is amazing, and they obviously have excellent taste in art! It is an intriguing project, to have my work part of such a lively place, outside of the confines of normal gallery spaces, and interacting with travellers and tourists as they come to explore London.

My cyanotypes are on display there for the foreseeable future, and you can also find a selection of my work on Loca.art’s website.

Tourist in your own town

Updated November 2022

We now have more details for the Astro exhibition in Berlin. The wonderful team at Astro magazine have recently been in touch to confirm that the exhibition will now be happening in early 2023 at GlogauAIR in Berlin. GlogauAir are a nonprofit organisation founded in 2006, as a meeting point to provide international artists in multiple disciplines the opportunity to develop their practice, so it looks perfect for this show!

There are 12 artists showing altogether, very different styles and mediums but we are all tourists in our own town.

The show will run from 27th of January until the 11th of February, with events planned for the opening and closing nights.
