The risk of blossoming. Cyanotype on paper. Edition of 3.

“And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anaïs Nin
Every new start, every new adventure carries a risk, like the start of spring for a plant about to start blossoming. The frost might not be gone yet, your idea might not work out, things could go wrong. But if everything falls into place , the result could be more beautiful than anything you can imagine, like a beguiling flower blooming out of still cold soil.
This is what prelude means to me. The tentative first step you take on a new journey, the first colourful petal to emerge from a tightly closed bud, the quiet first note of a new symphony, when nobody knows if the risk is worth taking. it is the blueprint you create before building a palace or a slum.
And this piece is a prelude for me, the beginning of a new adventure within my artistic journey: embracing a new technique, discovering new ways to create while confined to my home, finding joy and hope in this image of a flower shining brightly out of the darkness.
